United Nations (Prensa Latina) – The United Nations praised today the agreement reached by Colombia’s government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) to hold official talks, a decision announced last week.
The UN stance regarding these negotiations was made public in Geneva by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay during the opening speech of the 11th session of this body.
A week ago, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos made official the beginning of talks with FARC to achieve peace after half a century of armed conflict that will take place in Oslo, Norway and Havana, Cuba.
