Santos Seeks A Place in the History of Colombia
According to the Spanish web portal, El País de España, Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos is betting more than his life to end the violence plaguing his country for more than half a century.
The El País says that “Santos and Uribe are waging a war within a war against the FARC”.
The portal says that Santos wants to have an important place in the history of Colombia, and more, to be remembered as the “presidente de la paz” (peace president).
The comparison of the battle between the two presidents is made in a feature titled, ‘La Vorágine’ by Colombian writer José Eustacio Rivera.
