According to the investigative body, the man is a fugitive due to the fact that it has been a week since he was called by the justice system to give explanations as to why the vehicle was allowed on the road when it was clear that it did not have the permits and had experienced technical failures.

“Since Sunday members of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and the national police have been looking for Alfredo in different sites which we know he lived in or frequents,” said the Director of the Public Prosecution branch, Luis Gonzalez.

Also on Tuesday, residents from the Caribbean city of Santa Marta took to the streets to show their support to the families of the 33 people who perished in the tragic bus fire.
