FARC Demand International Presence According to French Journalist

The newly released French journalist Roméo Langlois said today that the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) bet on the presence of others countries for an eventual peace process in the nation.

At a press conference at the headquarters of the French Embassy in Bogota, Langlois stated that the FARC consider that starting a negotiation process with only the Colombians would be very difficult, given the distrust and hatred accumulated.

Langlois, who is a France 24 TV correspondent that was released after being 32 days held by the FARC, confirmed he carries a message of the insurgency to French President, Francois Hollande, of which he declined to provide more details.

However, he assured that this will be fully revealed at a proper time and mentioned that it speaks of the need for an international presence to negotiate peace in Colombia.

Moreover, Langlois reiterated that the Colombian conflict is not adequately addressed by the press, insisting that this is a war driven by people with certain interests, who never go to the battlefield.
