(Today Colombia) Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani will arrive in Bogota on Monday for an official visit to Colombia, during which he will be welcomed by President Juan Manuel Santos.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, the Emir of Qatar will meet Santos at the presidential palace.
According to the Emir’s agenda and to the protocol, he will be greeted in the Catam airbase, on the outskirts of Bogota, by senior officials from the Foreign Ministry.
The Emir of Qatar has already visited Colombia in 2013, invited by Santos, during a tour across South America that also included Ecuador and Peru.
Diplomatic relations between Colombia and Qatar were established on May 9th, 1995. The Embassy of Colombia in the United Arab Emirates is concurrent to Qatar from 2013.
