Colombia’s most famed actress, Sofia Vergara, hastily stamped out claims that she was rumored to be one of Cosby’s sexual assault victims.

The Twitter war began on Friday when En Candela celebrity news radio show tweeted the rumors, following the resurfacing of a 2003 interview between Vergara and Cosby.

The “Late Show” interview was part of a promotional tour for one of Vergara’s first major films, “Chasing Papi”, where Cosby was guest-hosting the show for David Letterman.

“A video of an interview of Bill Cosby and a young Sofia Vergara came out. It’s rumored she could have been one of his victims,” the tweet read.

The “Modern Family” star replied to the tweet, saying, “Respect people. Stop making up nonsense,” Vergara tweeted.

This was reportedly the first time that Vergara responded to the recent resurfacing of the video, which the internet has pounced on. Links to the video have surfaced with titles such as “WATCH: Bill Cosby Unleashes The Sleaze on Sofia Vergara in 2003 Interview.”

The 78 year old actor has recently been accused of sexual misconduct and sexually assaulting over 50 women.

According to Reuters, in the past week, two more women came forward with more accusations. The United States actor has been denying all allegations and has not been criminally charged.
