Colombian President Highlights Advance of the UNASUR

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, said that the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) increasingly takes shape and advances within diversity, although he admitted he was skeptical about the organization at the beginning.

“We saw it as something that could generate more problems than benefits, but when you’re wrong you have to admit it and I recognized that my perception was wrong”, said Santos during the handover ceremony of the general secretariat of the UNASUR.

The position was assumed by former Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ali Rodriguez, who replaced Colombian Maria Emmna Mejia who occupied the position for over a year.
