Colombian Navy trains 30 Costa Rican Coast Guard officials

Seven Colombian Navy experts are training 30 Costa Rica Guard Coast officials on strategies and techniques to improve their narco-trafficking operations, authorities said.

Some of the subjects being taught during the 18-day course that started on Sept. 18 are the inspection of motorboats, defensive techniques, maritime intelligence and exploration and tactical maneuvers during seizures.

The Colombian Coast Guard Mobile Training Group, created in 2011, is composed of narco-trafficking experts. So far, 142 individuals have gone through the training, including 47 Honduran Naval Forces officers, 37 Panamanians and 28 Dominicans.
