Colombia – Panama Tax Agreement is Postponed

TODAY COLOMBIA – Governments have agreed to extend for 60 days the negotiations to reach an agreement on conditions for the exchange of tax information

The request to postpone the agreement, originally scheduled for September 30, was made by the negotiating committees to the respective ministries, in order to have more time to work on “… difficult issues” that have not yet been resolved.

Prensa.com adds that “… The deadline for reaching agreement expired on Wednesday. According reports by El Tiempo, Colombia and Panama will complete the agreement, after the tense situation that arose last year, when Colombia included the isthmus on its gray list of tax havens. ”
