Colombian film La Sirga by William Vega, won the Coral award here today in the category Opera Prima in the 34th edition of the New Latin American Film Festival.
The jury decided to award in the second place the Argentine film Los Salvajes by Alejandro Fadel, who also won the award for Best Artistic Contribution.
Chilean film Carne de Perro, Fernando Guzzoni won third Coral award, recognition that binds to its recent award at the Film Festival in San Sebastian, Spain, in the category of young filmmakers.
The Opera Prima Mention went to the Peruvian director Adrian Saba for his film El Limpiador, a story about the life of a forensic cleaner who, while sanitizing an abandoned house, finds child hidden in a closet who has become an orphan, who he tries to take care of in a city where people die slowly because of a mysterious epidemic.
For its part, the short films jury awarded with a Coral to Cuban filmmaker Miguel Angel Moulet for it shortfilm Los anfitriones, while Sastre, by Colombian Cesar Andres Heredia, reached a special mention
