Bogota’s Mayor Gustavo Petro confirmed in the social media that there had been a 12 hour delay in picking up the garbage in the city. The Alcaldía pledged to work around the clock, if necessary, to collect all the waste until Bogotá is completely clean.
The problem, said the Mayor, was due to a record increase in waste in the city as waste collectors had to leave behind some 1.987 tons of waste from the city’s 4.273 tons, generating an accumulatio and thus delays in operations.
