1 soldier, 13 others injured by FARC landmines

One Colombian soldier was killed and 13 others were injured when an Army unit recently set off landmines planted by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in the department of Norte de Santander, military officials said.

The FARC’s 33rd Front is being blamed for planting the landmines on a road linking the towns of Tibú and El Tarra, according to Gen. Luis Montoya, who heads Task Force Vulcan, which combats terrorist and organized crime groups in Norte de Santander.
