An airplane carrying members of Colombia’s Prosecutor General’s Office crash-landed shortly after take-off on Monday, wounding three people, according to a statement from the agency.

“The Super King aircraft that has been assigned to the entity for 10 years had an accident while trying to take-off from Bahia Solano, Choco. The plane, according to the crew, lost power at the moment of take-off, which is why it ended up bumping into some trees.”

Two policemen and a technician from the Prosecutor General’s Office were wounded when their plane lost power minutes after take-off and crashed into some trees near the town of Bahia Solano in Colombia’s northwestern state of Choco, according to the statement.

“At around 5PM today [Monday] the Super King aircraft that has been assigned to the entity for 10 years had an accident while trying to take-off from Bahia Solano, Choco. The plane, according to the crew, lost power at the moment of take-off, which is why it ended up bumping into some trees.”

The crew of the aircraft were carrying out a mission to retrieve another aircraft that was confiscated on behalf of the Prosecutor General’s Office when the plane went down.

According to Colombia’s El Espectador newspaper, the three were taken to a hospital in Bahia Solano for medical evaluations and have since been discharged.
