Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC said Saturday it plans to release Francois Langlois on Wednesday, little more than a month after the French journalist was captured in combat.

According to a short statement on a guerrilla webste, “the coordinates of the place where Mister [Francois] Langlois will be released will be given to the humanitarian mission” formed by the Red Cross, former Senator Piedad Cordoba and a delegate of the French government.

The French journalist was taken “prisoner of war” after he got injured in fighting between army and guerrlllas that killed at least four soldiers.

Langlois was following an army unit to report on the Colombian state’s counter-narcotics operations in the south of the country.
